On the Google+ profile page there is a place to put a row of 5 pictures. I have seen a few profiles that took an panoramic style image and cropped it into 5 frame. So when I started thinking of a shot for my page, I of course went immediately to the "bricks".
Unfortunately pano images don't present all that great in this blog format...
